The Sanyo Dictator Machine was Nine Music’s major recording device in the Glory Years. The device was manly used in Terra’s Living Room and was used to record classic albums like ‘Five Star Album’, ‘The Linch Mob’, ‘Get Darked Up’ and ‘Love Hate.

Recording
The exact name of the device is the Sanyo Voice Activated System M1119. All recording were done in real time, if an artist made a mistake the recording would have to start over again from the beginning.

Although the recording process was primitive to industry standards, the Sanyo Dictator Machine allowed Nine Music to record music within it’s resources. It also allowed Nine Music recordings to be flexible by being portable.
